The client came to us with an exciting but simple concept: they wanted to create an educational game that could be played on an interactive board, designed to entertain and engage groups of children. This idea stemmed from their observation that interactive boards are becoming increasingly popular in classrooms, but most activities focus on individual learning or passive participation.
They envisioned a multiplayer game that would bring children together, promoting teamwork and problem-solving in a fun, competitive environment. The game needed to be simple enough for young children to understand and enjoy but also educational enough to fit within a classroom setting. We also needed to ensure that it was both engaging for children and straightforward for teachers to implement during lessons.
After analyzing the client’s requests, we proposed a fun, web-based, interactive crossword puzzle game tailored for two teams of children. The game design blends competitive elements with educational tasks, engaging students in a team-based challenge that improves their language skills while keeping them entertained.
The game was developed using React which made the game fast, responsive, and easily deployable across various interactive boards commonly used in classrooms. The web-based nature of it allowed flexibility for future updates and compatibility across different devices.
We focused on creating a user-friendly interface that allows teachers to easily control settings like word categories, difficulty levels, and game duration. Students interact directly with the touch-enabled board, selecting letters and solving clues collaboratively.
This solution not only ensures seamless gameplay but also fosters educational value, allowing children to improve their vocabulary and spelling skills while engaging in a fun and competitive team-based activity.
